Talvar (2015 Movie)- Review

Rating: 3.5/ 5

This is one of the masterpieces from our Bollywood Industry. Filled with thrill, action & suspense, this movie will definitely take you to the verge of your seats. One can't get enough of the points which are flawlessly debated over in the last 30 minutes of this movie. The actors who portrayed Ramesh & Nutan (Neeraj Kabi & Konkona Sen Sharma, respectively) have done a splendid job with their roles. There is no need to mention that Irrfan Khan was again highly remarkable with his role of CDI investigation officer, Ashwin Kumar. The person who was in-charge of the team after Ashwin was Paul, played by Atul Kumar. He successfully managed to get the film going. This one, in my opinion is a must watch, if you were an ardent follower of the Noida Double Murder Case (2008). Even if not, this thriller will activate your curious nerves for sure!

"I Too Had A Love Story" By Ravinder Singh- Review

Okay, so, this book was recommended to me by one of my friends. She was sure that I would love the book. Well, after reading reviews of some of the readers on Goodreads, I feared, whether I should give it a shot or not because of some of the negative reviews. Also, there is this habit of mine which I hate- whenever I lay my hands on any literary work, I have this urge to finish it up as soon as possible. (Didn't want to waste my time on not so good stuff) Read this for 9 consecutive hours after which my mother got concerned about my health & asked me to sleep. Next day, it took me 2 more hours to finish the rest of the book. At last, I arrived to this conclusion:

1. I am quite surprised that this book is a "national bestseller". There is no such thing that appears "best" in the book itself. Adding to this, unfortunately, the writing style is a disaster.
2. Although, I like the cover of it, (good job done by Saurav Das here, this can surely captivate one to give it a try) but it isn't enough to save it from the criticism.
3. Okay, it can be popular among teenagers because of it's genre but ARE YOU SERIOUS?- I couldn't stand the writer's vocabulary, seriously! Also, the fact that he's an MBA is amusing.
4. Moving on to the theme of the story- It is kind of relatable to the lovebirds. Also, it's fascinating, which made me read this further.
5. Have to mention this- If you've bought or have this book on your shelf, check some of the sentence formations. For instance on page 6, there's this line- "Speed breakers couldn't break our speed that evening." That line made me laugh hysterically. Sorry, but if you can't write using proper language, don't publish the book at all or if you desperately want to, get a good editor first. Also, we won't mind reading the book in his native language. Hoping to see improvements from the other end.

Overall, it deserves 2.5/ 5. Read it if you want to feel the emotional connect, keeping vocabulary aside.
